We are thrilled to offer you a another look at the Blogger NYC /Nate 921 Mosh/Mash Tweet up! We couldn’t be there but knew somebody who was … And when Lisa Ferguson ( @designspotting ) said she’d be our roving reporter we were so excited. For those of you who don’t know ( in twitterland at least) who Lisa is, then where the “hell” have you been. Lisa is friend to us all. Always there, reading and retweeting and offering friendly advice and opinions where it’s needed and wanted.  She’s always ready with a compliment to make you smile and information to make you smart. Here is HER take on the experience ….  there’s more about Lisa at the end of the “roving” report” :)

The Power of Twitter leads to Manhattan …

You may know Joy & Janet as The Moggitgirls. They are synonymous for me with “ the incredible power of twitter”. It truly is because of their tweet to Nate Berkus with the idea to have an audience full of design bloggers and a Nate blogging day ( idea of Julie @CreateGirl ) that around 100 interior designers and design bloggers booked their flights with a weeks notice and left their mark on New York City this week.

With just one tweet, many leveraged this unique gathering into many great opportunities. They are blushing with great stories that are exclusive to social media.

Chanee, who is even more delightful in person, created a fabulous blogger photo guide that will be referenced for a long time to come.

Camilla was instantly in touch with Nest Magazine ( @TheNest ) who agreed to plan and host a cocktail party ( in less than a week! ) at the fabulously creative The Collective. Emily styled a really fun bar cart for the Design Challenge. Stay tuned to The Nest for more images and behind the scene details.

There were many other opportunities to forge deeper connections. HGTV leveraged the opportunity of having so many creative design minds in town all at once by hosting a luncheon.

Rue Magazine editors dazzled 200 at their launch party at Century Furniture in the New York Design Center. Design bloggers Eddie Ross and Emily Henderson from                                                         HGTV fame were among the insiders celebrating.

Did you know that Anne and Crystal met on twitter and nearly a year ago co founded the fabulous new Rue Magazine ( @ruemagazine )? Incredible!

Recently, I had the pleasure of experiencing Anne’s incredible generosity ( and the power of twitter ) all the way from San Fran when she responded to my desperate tweet for help getting a Jonathan Adler Turtle box. And she is from Toronto!

On top of all of the other fun in New York, I even had a photoshoot in a stunning penthouse lounge. Random? No. It is another power of twitter story. You may remember when Amy (@abcddesigns) tweeted and shared about her photo shoot with Swoonoverit Studio. I was swooning over Amanda’s work and wondering how in the world I could have this talented photographer from Philadelphia take my head shot?!  Well, I contacted Amanda last week and she eagerly came into New York City this Wednesday and worked her magic with me and a few other designers. To top of this incredible experience, Amy generously secured this stunning penthouse lounge for our shoot. Yes, the Amy I have been tweeting with, but only met the day before.

I cant find the words to express my gratitude for this experience.

Amanda is also going back to New York soon to shoot for a few that couldn’t make it. All because of Amy’s tweets and Amanda’s desire to embrace social media marketing.

Amanda, you rocked my photoshoot. I can’t wait to see the other top 9 shots!

After being the start of it all, The Nate Berkus Show design blogger audience taping ends up being a footnote in all the glory that happened in NYC. It could have been so much more, if only the producers embraced social media. Clearly, the producers dont think we have significant reach and therefore ‘ leverage this unique opportunity in any way or at a minimum thank the Moggitgirls on camera and let the home audience know that their star guest, Emily Henderson, is also a blogger. Their loss. I am in no way disappointed. There were no promises made that were not kept. I am, though, just amazed that The Nate Berkus Show squandered an opportunity for more great free publicity that so many others would have valued and ran with. The CBS studios were to most just another venue to chat and connect with social media friends in real life.

The signature set is fab and a highlight of the studio visit. Nate’s candid Q & A was another, but way too short.

A whirlwind trip it was. A whirlwind, I am happy to be caught up in again.

What I really want to know is, what are your power of twitter stories?

Thank you Lisa … You did an amazing job as our roving reporter … thanks for being such a great sport!!! it was LOTS of fun and we ALMOST feel like we were there ???  Yeah, NO!  hahaha

A little more about Lisa Ferguson:

Lisa Ferguson Interior Design has had a successful 10 years and counting of residential renovations and decorating. Before Lisa’s launched her Design business she had had 11 years experience designing, importing and marketing home decor goods—yep she has been to China …a few times!  LOL  Lisa has been featured in Style at Home and Toronto Star … I’d say she’s been a VERY busy girl :) Not only does Lisa spend boundless energy inspiring all of us but one of her next goals is to travel to Central America each winter starting 2012 for 3 months to inspire and empower teens and women through creativity … We know she will and wish her much love and encouragement to fulfilling that dream .. AND what’s that??? You’re also launching a design book this fall …. WE MUST hear more about that … When, Where and how do we get a copy?
